Nashoba 22, Oakmont 35
Caroline Collins led the way, as the Nashoba girls cross-country team defeated Oakmont, 22-35, on Nashoba’s 3.1-mile course Sept. 27.
Collins was in control crossing the finish line with a winning time of 19:34, 13 seconds ahead of Oakmont’s top runner (19:47). Nashoba’s Lailee Joyce (3rd, 22:56), and Ava Klein (4th, 23:40) were among the top 5. With the win, Nashoba Improves to 3-0, while handing Oakmont its first loss (2-1). Nashoba takes on North Middlesex on the road, next Tuesday, Oct. 5.

There was simply no stopping Freddy Collins
The Nashoba boys cross-country team ran away with a 15-50 win over Oakmont, Sept. 27. Collins took top honors with a winning time of 17:17, with teammates Ailin Oberlies (2nd, 17:22) and Adam Balewicz (3rd, 17:53) right behind him. Tommy Hall (4th, 18:42) and Alex Allison (5th, 19:43), rounded out the top 5 in this clean sweep. With the win the Nashoba boys improves to 3-0.
Westford 3, Groton-Dunstable 0
Westford Academy grounded Groton-Dunstable girls soccer, 3-1, Sept. 27.
The Crusaders goalies held their ground. Caitlin Saboliauskas made 5 saves in net first quarter, surrendering a goal. Annabelle Apigian took to the crease for the rest of the contest, making 9 saves. Midfielder Katy Paveglio and striker Brooke Dondero also had strong efforts for Groton-Dunstable.
