Pythons rout Kearsarge to remain unbeaten – Lowell Sun


The Pelham High football team improved to 3-0 on the season, cruising past Kearsarge in a 52-8 victory Friday evening.

Jake Travis ran for three touchdowns and added a two-point conversion, scoring on runs of 2, 2, and 36 yards. Ethan Demmons chipped in a with a pair of TD runs.

Pelham opened the scoring on Kevin Bodenrader blocked punt, with Alex Carroll falling on the ball in the end zone early on.

Scott Paquette also had a TD run for the Pythons, who allowed just 44 yards of total offense.

Girls soccer

Greater Lowell 2, Lowell 2: Tyra Medina tied the game with seven minutes left for Greater Lowell (2-0-2), heading home an Emily Sandelli corner kick. Sandelli also scored and Jullia Canario made eight saves and contributed an assist for the Gryphons.

Nashoba Tech 2, Trivium 1: Sadie Tracy pulled the Vikings even midway through the second half then set up Sophia Brown on the game-winner with nine minutes to go.

Westford Academy 1, Weston 0: Tamar Almasian scored off of a corner kick from Isabel Doherty 18 minutes into the game for the lone goal.

Field hockey

Chelmsford 5, Westford Academy 0: Lexi D’Angelo scored twice and Remore Serra added a goal and an assist in the win. Maddie Preistly and Sarah Latham also netted markers.

Littleton 4, Bromfield 0: Brittany Iverson had a hat trick and added an assist and Kyra Manseau made five saves to notch her first shutout. Amanda Yurkoski added a goal and a helper for the Tigers (4-0).


Tyngsboro 32.5, Groton-Dunstable 21.5: Junior Trevor Drew set a school record with a 5-under 31 at Sky Meadow in Nashua to lead the Tigers (3-1-1) to this Mid-Wach crossover victory. Josh Savoie (38) and Brandon St. Gelais (40) also won for Tyngsboro.

Ethan Loomis shot the low score for G-D (2-4) despite losing his match to Drew.

North Middlesex 31, Littleton 23: Jake Miller (39), Shawn Amari (40) and Mike Archambault (41) led the Patriots (5-2) to the win at Northern Spy Golf Club.

Littleton’s Luke Laferty was the medalist with a 1-over 36.


Greater Lowell 3, Lowell Catholic 0: Set scores were 25-16, 25-9, 25-23.

Madi Franz had 13 kills and six aces, while Bri DeLucia chipped in with 23 assists in a losing effort.

North Middlesex 3, Leominster 0: The Patriots won 25-10, 25-14, 25-11.

Brooke Nelson had a pair of aces, Bella Perriano had four aces and two kills and Angela Kopec had two aces and three kills in the victory.

Acton Boxboro 3, Westford Academy 1: Set scores were 25-19, 21-25, 29-27, 25-21.

Jordan Krauss had 14 kills and three aces in the loss, while Katherine Crane added 10 kills.

Greater Lowell 3, Lowell Catholic 0: Set scores were 25-16, 25-9, 25-23.

Greater Lowell’s Nellie Chan had 10 service points with three aces, three kills and great defensive play and Alexa Furtado added 10 assists and two kills. Iyana Lopez had six kills, while Casey Ziemba had seven kills of her own.

North Andover 3, Billerica 1: The Indians fell by scores of 25-16, 22-25, 15-18, 25-20.

Stephanie Sardella had nine kills in the loss, while Naomi Boldebuck added four.
