Warm, humid Saturday with a spot shower or storm possible | Weather

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) — Tropical storm Odette will pass southeast of the Cape and Islands overnight into Saturday morning. This storm won’t bring much to western Mass, only rough seas and rip currents. The Cape and eastern Mass will see clouds and a few showers Saturday morning, but western Mass won’t see anything from this storm.

Here in western Mass, any fog and low cloud cover will gradually break up in the morning and skies turn mostly sunny for the afternoon. Expect a warm, humid day with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s!

A cold front will approach Saturday afternoon and evening with some patchy clouds and a risk for an isolated shower or weak thunderstorm. The activity looks very spotty, so most probably won’t see anything. If a shower does move through, it should be short-lived.

Drier air moves in behind the cold front for Saturday night and temperatures look to cool back to the 50s. We go into a pretty nice stretch of weather with sunshine Sunday and Monday along with seasonably warm days and cool, crisp nights. Tuesday begins clear, then clouds increase as winds shift to the southwest.

Our next chance at rain will be sometime late Wednesday or Thursday as a strong cold front slowly moves in from the west. Humidity rises ahead of the front for Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely ahead of the front and look to come through western Mass on Thursday. We turn breezy and sharply cooler and drier behind the front. A solid fall chill should be around Friday and Saturday.
