1932 – 2023
CHICOPEE ~ Constance J. (Viens) Tortoriello Frutuoso, 90, of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Thursday evening at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family. Connie as family and friends called her, was born in Chicopee, a daughter of Euclide and Beatrice (Mongeau) Viens. She lived in Chicopee all her life and attended local schools. Connie worked as a Dietary Aide for 32 years at Mercy Hospital before retiring. She was a devout catholic, communicant of the former St. George’s Church in Chicopee and most recently a communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Church in Springfield. She was one of 11 children of a large and loving family, her siblings Roger, Ernest, Richard, Alfred, Rita, Gloria, Shirley and Joan and a stepdaughter, Susana Frutuoso predeceased her. She was married to Vitorino “Victor” Frutuoso in 1978 and they had many blessed and happy years together until his passing on May 12, 2006. Connie leaves her loving family; Anthony Tortoriello (Lynne), Donna Martineau (Keith), Thomas Tortoriello, Mark Tortoriello (Denise) and Dean Tortoriello (Amy). Her stepchildren; Silvino Frutuoso (Victoria), Maria Ceu Ligeiro (Fred) and Gina Jordan (Kevin). Her dear sisters; Lucile Teague and Claire Giblo and her cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE ON FRIDAY, MAY 5, 2023 FROM 8:30 TO 10:30 A.M. A FUNERAL MASS FOR CONNIE WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. AT MARY MOTHER OF HOPE CHURCH, 840 PAGE BLVD., SPRINGFIELD. INTERMENT OF HER ASHES WILL FOLLOW IN SAINTE ROSE CEMETERY, 49 OLSEN ST., CHICOPEE. Because of her great faith, her family has requested donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
