Raymond A. Beaudoin, 74, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, May 4, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on September 11, 1948, a beloved son of the late Ernest A. and Lena L. (Savage) Beaudoin. He was raised and educated in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of the city. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. He was a Finish Carpenter for Mount Holyoke Management Company. Ray enjoyed golfing and was a member of the American Legion and the AMVETS Post 12 in Chicopee. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving lifetime partner, Beverly A. (Elwell) Loftus; his beloved son, Matthew Beaudoin; his four dear siblings, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Theroux and Ellen M. Rudert and her husband, Alan, all of Chicopee, Ernest F. Beaudoin and his wife, Joanne, of South Carolina, and Laura A. Gagnon of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother in law, Dennis A. Theroux who was Called Home on June 10, 2011. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.). His Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Celebration Service at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. His family requests that memorial donations be made in Ray’s memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
