EASTHAMPTON — An entranceway to a section of the city’s Manhan Trail is closed through May 26 while improvements are completed.
According to Jeff Bagg, the Easthampton planning director, the work is part of a general pedestrian safety improvements project underway along Payson Avenue.
He said the section of the Manhan Rail Trail at the Payson Avenue crossing is now closed, with the work expected to be done by Memorial Day. In the meantime, trail users are asked to access the trail by another route.
This city project is partially funded by a $200,000 Massachusetts Department of Transportation Shared Streets grant.
