Diana Joan Crisostomo, 74 years old, of 26 Pond Street, Ludlow, Massachusetts, passed away on May 5, 2023 while traveling with her beloved husband of 50 years, Alberto (Betu) Crisostomo. She is survived by her son Jonathan Crisostomo and wife Tanya of Belchertown, and her daughter Katie and husband Dr. Michael Cocchi of Dover, Massachusetts. Diana was the loving “Meme” to her four grandchildren, Aadon and Sierra Crisostomo, and Ella and Louisa (Lulu) Cocchi, and she treasured the time she spent with them.
Diana was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on July 3, 1948 to Hazel and John Hyjek. She pursued a career as a nurse and worked for approximately 40 years providing care and comfort to her patients at Ludlow Hospital, local nursing homes, and as a private duty nurse. A devout Roman Catholic, Diana was a member of Christ the King Church in Ludlow and Monte del Rosa Church in Holyoke before that. Over the years, she enjoyed volunteering with the Ludlow Senior Center.
In addition to her immediate family, Diana leaves her sister, Constance Tincher, and husband Walter of Wells, Maine; her brother John (Jess) Hyjek and wife Delores of Holiday, Florida; and her brother Victor Hyjek of Reno, Nevada. She is also survived by her nephew Jason Hyjek of Brooklyn NY, and nieces Jennifer Udeshi of Lincoln, Rhode Island, and Lindsay Nichols of Wells, Maine, and their spouses and children. She will be fondly remembered by many extended family and friends.
Visitation for Diana is on Sunday, May 21st from 4:00-6:00pm. Funeral services are on Monday, May 22nd at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana’s memory to Friends of the Ludlow Senior Center.
