MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has charged the man who was detained in connection with a deadly shooting Saturday morning in Mansfield.
William O’Brien, 22, of Manchester-By-The-Sea, was charged with carrying an illegal firearm and carrying a loaded illegal firearm, District Attorney Thomas Quinn said.
O’Brien will be arraigned on Monday morning in Attleboro District Court.
Police received a call Saturday morning about a shooting at 42 West Church St. When officers arrived, they found Samuel Waters, 23, of Mansfield, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was dead.
Massachusetts State Police detectives, Homicide Unit prosecutors and Mansfield police are continuing to investigate the incident and no further information has been released, Quinn said.
