Track Capital Region athletes in their college athletic careers


May 9, 2023: The senior, a Broadalbin-Perth High graduate, finished second in two events for the Sage men’s track team at the Empire 8 Conference Championship on May 6-7 in Utica. Coddington was second in the shot put with a school record toss of 50 feet, ¾ inches. He also finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 162 feet, 5 inches. And he was 12th in the discus throw with a heave of 114 feet, 4 inches. The Gators finished sixth out of seven teams.

April 24, 2023: The 6-foot-3 Sage senior, a Broadalbin-Perth High graduate, had a big performance at the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic on April 21 in Albany. Coddington finished first in the hammer throw with a personal record heave of 182 feet, 2 inches. He also finished first in the shot put with a toss of 48-10 and was fourth in the discus with an effort of 128-2. He ranks first in the hammer, second in the shot put and fourth in the discus on the Empire 8 Conference performance list.

April 10, 2023: The senior, a Broadalbin-Perth High graduate, broke his own school record and had another solid performance for the Sage men’s track team at the Pioneer Spring Invitational last weekend in Utica. Coddington finished first in the hammer throw with a record toss of 162-4. He also finished second in the shot put (47-9¼) and sixth in the discus (126-3).

March 6, 2023: The senior had a solid performance as the Sage men’s indoor track team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championship on March 4-5 at The Armory in New York City. Competing in his final event of the season, the Broadalbin-Perth High graduate bettered his school record when he finished seventh in the weight throw with a heave of 55 feet, 7¼ inches. Coddington is the highest finisher at the meet in program history. He was named Empire 8 Conference Track Athlete of the Week on March 6.

Feb. 27, 2023: The 6-foot-3 senior had a solid performance for the Sage men’s indoor track team at the Empire 8 Conference Championship on Feb. 25-26 in Rochester. The Broadalbin-Perth High graduate finished second in the weight throw with a school record heave of 54 feet, 9½ inches. He also finished third in the shot put with a 47-foot, 3-inch effort. Coddington will lead the Gators into the Division III All-Atlantic Regionals on March 405 at The Armory in New York City.

Feb. 13, 2023: The senior had a big season throwing for the Sage men’s indoor track team and he is hoping the best is yet to come. The 6-foot-3 Coddington, from Amsterdam and a Broadalbin-Perth High graduate, bettered his school records for the weight throw (54 feet, 4¾ inches) and shot put (49-11¾) this winter. He is second in both events heading into the Empire 8 Conference Championship on Feb. 24-25 in Rochester. Coddington prepped for the meet by finishing first in the shot (45-7) and second behind an unattached athlete in the weight throw (52-8¾) at the Hampshire Black Sheep Invitational on Feb. 11 in Boston. He has two wins, two seconds and a third in the weight throw and a first, second, third and a fourth in the shot put this winter. He finished second in both at last year’s league indoor championship. Coddington also holds school records outdoors in the shot put, discus and hammer.

Jan. 23, 2023: The senior, a Broadalbin-Perth High graduate, bettered his program record when he captured the weight throw for the Sage men’s track team at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Jan. 21-22. He had a toss of 54 feet, ½ inch. He also finished fourth in the shot put (43-2½). He was named Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 23.

Dec. 19, 2022: The 6-3 senior thrower has had a solid start to the indoor season for the Sage men’s track team. The Broadalbin-Perth graduate opened the season by finishing first in the weight throw (52 feet, 5½ inches) and third in the shot put (44-5¼) at the Springfield Home Opener on Dec. 3 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He followed up with a third in the weight throw (52-10¾) and fourth in the shot put (46-10¼) at the Utica Holiday Classic on Dec. 10. The weight throw effort is a personal record.
