Healey signs executive order establishing Veterans’ Services council | ABC6

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Gov. Maura Healey signed an executive order establishing the Governor’s Advisory Council on Veterans’ Services.

The council’s goal is to inform the governor’s office about veterans’ issues in Massachusetts and will represent the state’s veteran community.

“This council represents another step forward in our mission to prioritize the diverse experiences of our service members and will play a crucial role in our efforts to elevate veterans’ services statewide,” Healey said.

Secretary Jon Santiago, who already works with the Executive Office of Veterans, will be an ex officio council member.

Healey said she will appoint all Council members, including a chair and a chair of the Women’s Advisory Council.
