It’s officially that time of year when boats are back in the water. If you are looking to engage in water sports activities, there are plenty of options. Step Outside recently highlighted some of the best places in Massachusetts to jet ski.
In the Bay State, we are lucky to have several easily accessible bodies of water. Jet skiing is a popular water sport activity in the area. The one to two-person vehicle can be great fun in the proper conditions. Step Outside’s report explains many of the best areas that accommodate jet skiing in Massachusetts.
Step Outside lists Lake Congomond in Southwick and Webster Lake in Webster as two lakes to power up the jet ski. Lake Congomond is in Western Massachusetts. Jet skiing is allowed there and there are numerous scenic routes you can take along as it is a relatively small space to navigate. Lake Webster is on the southern side of the state and is approximately 1,442 acres. It is well-known for having clear waters allowing for numerous water sport activities. It’s common to find fishing and kayaking along Lake Webster.
Sesuit Harbor on Cape Cod and Dorchester Bay in the Boston Harbor also allow jet skiing. Sesuit in Dennis has a well-established reputation for its boating activity. It’s a popular summer destination for both water sports and great seafood. Dorchester Bay on the Boston Harbor has more or a local feel. It also draws people from Boston due to its proximity to the city.
Nuzzled between the island of Nantucket and Cape Cod, you will find the salt waters of the Nantucket Sound. It’s approximately 30 miles long and 25 miles wide, allowing plenty of space to cruise around the Atlantic. As Step Outside points out, there are also jet ski rental operations in certain areas of the best place to jet ski in Massachusetts spot.
