Deppe is a 6-6 forward from Hopedale High School in Hopedale, Mass., who averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds on his way to earning Dual Valley Conference Most Valuable Player honors as a senior. He was a two-time All-League player and was named to the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Division 5 All-Senior Team.
A 6-4 guard from Westfield High School in Westfield, N.J., Halloran earned recognition as a Union County All-Star twice, including First Team as a senior. A three-year varsity player, he averaged 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
Neil is a 6-6 forward from Warwick Valley High School in Warwick, N.Y., where he was a two-time Section 9 All-Star and four-time New York State All-Academic honoree. In his senior season, he scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds per game, earning Class AA All-New York State recognition.
A 6-3 guard, Scalisi comes to Rensselaer from Staten Island, N.Y., and Monsignor Farrell High School. As a senior, he led his team to a Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Class A City Championship, the State Championship, and the Federation Championship. He was a two-time All-CHSAA First Team selection and twice chosen for the Tom Konchalski Sportsmanship Award. Scalisi was named to the All-State Class A First Team after averaging 16 points a game in his final season.
A native of Loganville, Ga., Stewart is a 6-3 guard who played his post-graduate season at the Millbrook School in Millbrook, N.Y. He tallied 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest and was a New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) Class B Honorable Mention selection. Prior to Millbrook, Stewart was a 1,000 point scorer at Trinity Preparatory School in Loganville. He earned All-Region and All-State honors as a senior.
A 6-6 forward from Lakeville, Mass., White comes to RPI from Tabor Academy, where he was a key player on a team that won 14 games at the NEPSAC Class A level. Prior to Tabor, he was a standout at Apponequet High School, where he averaged 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on his way to earning South Coast Conference Most Valuable Player accolades. White led his team to a Conference Championship in his final season and was named the 2021 Standard-Times Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
The six newcomers look to add to a Rensselaer squad that enjoyed another successful year in 2022-23. The Engineers had an overall record of 19-9 and advanced to the Liberty League Championship Game. The Engineers finished the season third in the nation in scoring defense, giving up only 57.1 points per contest. In the last three seasons RPI has accumulated a 66-20 record.
