Alexander S. Koziol, age 89, of Pittsfield died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center.
Born in Pittsfield on November 19, 1933, Al was one of 6 children of Polish immigrant parents, Julian and Julia (Muron) Koziol. He was educated in the local schools and went on to serve in the US Army Reserves at the end of the Korean War. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.
A bright and knowledgeable man, Al worked as a technical artist for General Electric Company for nearly 30 years. He retired in 1992.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and cherished his family.
Al married the former Patricia Manix in Greenfield, MA on August 27, 1960. They would have celebrated 63 years of marriage next month.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Koziol is survived by their children, Andrea (Mark) Senseman of Tipp City, OH and Stephen (Hilary Weiner) Koziol of Greenfield, MA, 4 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
The Koziol family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Kimball Farms, especially the Linwood Units staff, who cared for Al over the last 18 months.
There are no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on SATURDAY, July 22nd at 9AM at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield with Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Al’s memory may be made payable to “Hospice Care in the Berkshires” and mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
