Henry Elias “Hank” Packard, Jr., 70 of Pittsfield, passed away July 16, 2023 at home.
Born in Pittsfield on October 26, 1952 to Henry and Dorothy Fowler Packard, he was a 1970 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He was employed at Petricca Industries for 20 years, retiring in 2009 as Bridge Superintendent. He previously had been employed at Packard Optical for almost 20 years until 1987 and from 1975 to 1988 he worked as a mechanic at Sears.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Packard and wife Aimee of Pittsfield of Pittsfield. He was a “Beepa” to four grandchildren, Makenna Packard of Lenox, Joseph Packard of Lenox, Isabella Packard of Pittsfield and Camden Packard of Pittsfield. A sister, Patricia Packard and husband Tatong Hemmaplardh of CT, a nephew, Patrick and several cousins.
Hank was an extremely hard worker and would provide a helping hand to anyone who needed it. There isn’t anything he couldn’t fix. If you were to know Hank, you would like him and he was a hero to his family. He knew how to have a good time and was always ready with a story. Hank was an avid motorcyclist and raced canoes in his younger years. Hank loved being a “Beepa” and spending time spoiling his 4 grandchildren. Hank also had a great love for his pets especially, Pally, Tessie and Allie. He will be extremely missed but never forgotten by all of those who were lucky enough to call themselves family or friend. He will forever be in our hearts.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held, Monday, July 24, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. A funeral home service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor of St. Agnes Church. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
