Eric A. Wieland, 65, of Pittsfield, died Friday at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Holyoke, MA, March 31, 1958, the son of Gilbert H. and Sally Noyes Wieland he attended local schools and was a 1976 graduate of Pathfinder High School in Palmer.
Eric worked as a self-employed carpenter for much of his life and was always ready to help family and friends with their projects. He enjoyed Playing his guitar, gardening, woodworking and finish carpentry.
In addition to his mother of Hinsdale and father of Holyoke, Eric is survived by his stepfather David Howe of Hinsdale; sisters and brothers including Diane Wieland of Pittsfield, Matthew and Jason (Missy Peletier) Wieland of Hinsdale, Marcelle Wieland Morgan (Tim) of Conway, MA, and Jeremy Howe of Hinsdale; nieces and nephews Lucas, Mary Alice, Adam, William and James.
All services will be held at a later date to be determined at the convenience of the family.
