Suspect in Holyoke shooting that killed infant surrenders


A third suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Holyoke, Massachusetts, that claimed the life of an infant one month ago surrendered Friday.Kermith Alvarez, 28, of Holyoke, is accused in the Oct. 4 shooting on Sargeant Street. Gunfire struck a bus and a pregnant woman who was on the bus. This victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The infant, who was delivered and needed life-saving medical services, died.Alvarez was added to the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted shortly after the shooting.Alvarez is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Holyoke District Court on a charge of murder. Alejandro Ramos, 22, of Holyoke, was arraigned on a charge of murder in Holyoke District Court for his suspected involvement in the shooting. Johnluis Sanchez, 30, of Holyoke, was also arraigned in connection with the case.
