Gail C. McDonald, 77, of Agawam, Massachusetts, passed away on November 5, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Holyoke on February 21, 1946, a daughter of the late Gerald L. Champagne and Cecile (Mercier) Tetreault, she went on to a career working as a toy maker for Milton Bradley/Hasbro for over 30 years. She loved traveling around the country and abroad. Her fondest travel memory is the celebration of her 50th Wedding Anniversary with her beloved late husband David McDonald, her children and their spouses and all her grandchildren at Walt Disney World. She found great joy attending dance recitals, sporting events, and life events of her four granddaughters. She enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with her Milton Bradley retiree friends. Predeceased by her beloved husband, David McDonald, and siblings Gerald Champagne and sister who passed in infancy. She leaves her two children: Sherrie Habrat and her husband Guy Habrat of Feeding Hills, MA, Thomas McDonald and his wife Jae McDonald of Norton, MA; and four grandchildren: Danielle Hicks and her husband Michael Hicks, Emily Habrat, Carly McDonald and Lane McDonald; and her great grandchild Cruz Hicks. She also leaves her close cousin Paula Fortier of Montreal, Canada, her sister-in-law Joyce Mocarski of Ohio, and many dear friends. Gail was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
