Maria de Jesus Ramos
1945 – 2023
Ludlow
Maria De Jesus Ramos, 78, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Born in A dos Francos, Caldas Da Rainha, Portugal to Jose Ramos and Maria de Jesus, she immigrated to the United States in the 70’s settling in Ludlow, but always enjoyed her trips back to visit Portugal. Maria was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and loved going to church with her many friends from the Portuguese community. She worked for many years at Farmland Foods, from where she retired, and in her free time, she loved to cook her authentic Portuguese dishes including carne de porco alentejana and lulas, garden with her incredible green thumb, take care of her grandchildren who lovingly called her VoVo Mae, and spend time with her dear friends on Cedar Street. Maria spent her life working hard and dedicating herself to taking care of her family. Her strength and resilience through life was admired by many and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Maria was a loving mother to Cidalia Vital (Faria) and husband Mark Vital, and the late Nuno Faria who predeceased her in 2014; a devoted VoVo Mae to Brianna Faria and fiancé Antonio Hart, Marco and Ellie Vital, and Mya and Jayden Faria; an adoring great-grandmother to Alexandra Mae Hart; and also leaves many loving brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews in Portugal, extended family members, and dear friends. Funeral services for Maria will be held on Wednesday, December 6th. Visiting hours are from 9:15-10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady Of Fatima Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
