Snow piled up over Saturday night and Sunday, and the National Weather Service has amassed snowfall totals for Massachusetts communities across the state.
As of Monday morning, more than 50 communities had reached the 1-foot mark.
Worcester reported 15.5 inches of snow, Springfield reported 11.5 inches of snow and Boston reported around 3 inches of snow in its Beacon Hill, Charleston, Allston and Brighton neighborhoods, according to the National Weather Service.
Significant snow fell across the state over the weekend, with even some Cape Cod communities reporting an inch of snow.
Snow stopped across the state by Sunday afternoon and evening, but the National Weather Service is reporting the potential for a “more impactful” storm to hit the region this week on Tuesday into Wednesday.
The wind and rain from the storm in Massachusetts will likely be severe, leading to massive power outages, damaged roads and coastal flooding on Tuesday into Wednesday, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Dellicarpini.
Meanwhile, on Monday, many schools had canceled or delayed their openings as a result of the weekend storm.
Communities reporting 15 inches or more of snow include:
- The top snow-recorders for the storm were the town of Tyngsboro in Middlesex County, with 18.2 inches and the city of Haverhill in Essex County with 18 inches.

A notable community for the region outside Massachusetts, also reporting more than 8 inches, is Windsor Locks, Conn., home of Bradley International Airport, which recorded 8.2 inches of snow as of 7 a.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service got an early start collecting snow totals. In a 3:30 a.m. message on Sunday to X, formerly known as Twitter, the National Weather Service’s Norton office wrote that it had a preliminary assessment of how much snow had fallen on the region.
“Keep the reports coming,” the Weather Service wrote.
