Elementary students attend Springfield College basketball game

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Nearly 400 elementary students attended Springfield College men’s basketball game with activities planned during halftime.

Basketball players of the Springfield Pride team competed against Babson Beavers at Blake Arena on the Springfield College campus and won 90 to 54.

“This is one of my favorite games of the year. As your going to hear and as you see with all these young people walking around, this is loud. We’ve got young people that are having pizza, they’re having water, they’re having soft drinks and they’re cheering on our Springfield College Pride which is super exciting for them and me.,” said Calvin Hill, Vice President of Inclusion and Community Engagement

Elementary students from White Street, Elias Brookings, Indian Orchard, and Washington schools got to watch the game live at Springfield College and will get to participate in trivia, math activities, and interactive promotions during halftime.
