Tennis Looks To Two-Match Weekend – University of Massachusetts Athletics

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis prepares for two matches this weekend, traveling to Hanover, New Hampshire, on Saturday, March 2, to take on Dartmouth at the Boss Tennis Center at 12:30 p.m., before hosting LIU on Sunday, March 3, at the Mullins Center Tennis Courts for its Food Drive and Donation match at 1 p.m.  
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen took a week off, holding a 4-2 record overall. Prior to the break, Massachusetts faced Syracuse on the road, falling 4-0.
The Orange grabbed the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 1, after UMass’ Amelia Tye and Ella Faessler won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. In singles competition, Syracuse notched points on courts No. 5, No. 4 and No. 2, quickly, to win the match.
Scouting Dartmouth
The Big Green are currently 4-4 overall ahead of Saturday’s match and are coming off a tight 4-3 loss at Navy on February 25. Dartmouth earned two straight victories to begin the season, defeating Army (7-0) and Boston University (5-2), and has gone on to win against Penn (4-3) and Georgetown (4-3) this season.
Scouting LIU
The Sharks hold a 3-2 overall record heading into Sunday’s match. LIU is coming off a long break after winning 4-3 against Drexel on February 17, and earned back-to-back 7-0 victories earlier in the year over Colgate and at Stonehill.
LIU will travel to Delaware on Friday, March 1, prior to facing UMass on Sunday.  
Next Up
Massachusetts sets for a three-match weekend, heading to Yale on Saturday, March 9, for a 1 p.m. contest, before welcoming Lehigh and Siena on Sunday, March 10, to Amherst for a doubleheader. The Minutewomen take on the Mountain Hawks at 11 a.m., and match up with the Saints at 4 p.m.
