Storm causing thousands of power outages across Massachusetts

(WWLP)- Thousands of utility customers across Massachusetts lost power Thursday morning due to a storm that brought powerful winds, along with rain, sleet, and snow to the region.

As of 6:30 Thursday morning, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency was reporting more than 9,000 customers without electricity statewide, scattered throughout the state, with some of the most significant outages in western and central Massachusetts.

Some of the most significant outages in western Massachusetts are in Belchertown, Monson, Shutesbury, and Wales, with more scattered outages in other communities, particularly in eastern Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties, as well as throughout Berkshire County.
