LANGELIER, Victor A. Jr. Victor A. Langelier, Jr., of Agawam, MA, passed away on Monday, (July 11, 2005). He was born on October 21, 1909 in Holyoke, MA where he lived most of his life before moving to South Hadley, MA and, most recently Agawam. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita (Dupre) Langelier. Victor began his career as a grocer and later made a living as an owner-renovator of apartment buildings in Holyoke. He also served for 26 years on the Board of Directors of People’s Savings Bank in Holyoke and was, until his death, the oldest honorary member of the bank Board. He was a member of the Cercle Rochambeau and a founding member of the Beavers Club of Holyoke. He also served in several community organizations in the Holyoke area. Besides his wife, he is survived by his five children, Jeanne Langelier and her husband, Donald Symington of Santa Fe, N.M., William Langelier and his wife Carolyn of San Francisco, CA, Aline Lavelle and her husband Terence of Marblehead, MA, Louise O’Connell and her husband Daniel of Granby, and Marie Langelier of Springfield, MA; eight grandchildren, David Blum, Sara Langelier, Nicole Langelier, Anna Lavelle, Sean O’Connell, Nora O’Connell, Jacqueline Langeiler, Katherine Langelier; and four great-grandhildren. The Grise Funeral Home, Chicopee, MA is assisting the family with arrangements. Final rites will be private. The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
