From an early age, Ted faced challenges that taught him the value of family and the importance of perseverance, integrity, and courage.
Before joining the US Navy, he was a loving uncle to his nieces and worked as a sous chef at The Yellow Astor. When he wasn’t with family or reading, he was with friends working on cars and motorcycles.
After joining the Navy, Ted met his wife, Patti, who, after forty years of marriage, preceded him in death in 2022. Ted’s joining the Navy and meeting Patti shaped the rest of his life. Together, they were loving parents to two boys and dedicated to caring for each other.
Ted served twenty years in the US Navy as an instructor and a missile technician on the USS Andrew Jackson, a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine.
He passed knowing he was a wonderful father and brother and that he was loved. He is survived by his sons David and Jeffrey; his daughters-in-law Brooke and Marena; his sisters Nora and Mary; his brother John; his nieces, and many other family members and friends.
A private ceremony will be held later this summer at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society, where he adopted his beloved pets. www.jaxhumane.org/memorial
