David Francis Kellner, 47, of Chicopee, MA peacefully passed away July 2, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. David was born on September 5, 1976, in Springfield, MA to J. Steven and Anne Kellner. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1995 and received an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering concentration in CadCam a certificate in Quality Control from STCC. He was a quality control manager for U.S. Tsubaki Automotive LLC Chicopee, MA. In October 2020 David married the love of his life Victoria (Vicky) Yacovone. Together they created many memories cruising, going to Aruba and Bermuda, spending time at Cape Cod and around New England. David loved his Irish Music especially the SawDoctors, Dropkick Murphys and he attended numerous concerts from Phish to Aaron Lewis and Metallica. David was an avid athleteâ in high school he played soccer and wrestled. He continued to follow Western Ma wrestling. David was an obsessive New England sports fan. His second greatest love was Duke basketball and Coach K. You could find him at his nephews’ sports games whenever possible or on the golf course or playing darts. Friends and family were very important to him. Spending holidays and special occasions with his family was his top priority. You could always count on Dave’s almond joy cookies at every event. Saint Patrick’s Day was David’s Christmas. Besides his wife Vicky and parents Steve and Anne, David will be terribly missed by his brother Tom and fiancée Danielle Hebert of Wilbraham, sister Kristyn of East Longmeadow and nephews Brendan, Dylan, Mason, Jaxon and Byron , his in-laws Joanne Yacovone and her partner Ronald Picard, Richard Yacovone and his partner Donna Bizeau , brother in law Matthew Yacovone (Ginger) and their son Chad, his boxer Tela, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends. David’s signature style always included an Irish cap, Notre Dame or Duke hat or anything green. Mourners are requested to wear green to his funeral. Visitation for David will be on Monday July 8, 2024, from 4 pmâ 7 pm at the Sampson Chapels of the Acres 21 Tinkham Road Springfield, MA 01129. A liturgy of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at 11 am at St. Michael’s Church 128 Maple St. East Longmeadow, MA 01028. Everyone is invited to meet at the church. Followed by Rites of Committal at the Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 421 Tinkham Rd Springfield, MA. All are invited to a reception at Nathan Bill’s Bar and Restaurant 110 Island Pond Road Springfield, MA.01118 immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations in David’s name may be made to Baystate Heart and Vascular Critical Care Unit baystatehealth.org/foundation.
