1954 – 2024
Edgewater, FL
Donald Brayden Berry, born May 26, 1954 in Exeter, N.H., took his last ambulance ride, lights and sirens, before succumbing to injuries following a tragic car accident on Jan. 31, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Donny is survived by his beloved wife Anne Harkins Berry, their three children: Amanda Berry of Oak Hill, FL; Brayden Berry of West Springfield, MA; and Elizabeth Major of Manchester, NH, along with her husband Ethan and grandchildren Riley and Eisley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Berry of Stratham, NH, and his sister Katherine Berry.
A graduate of Exeter High School in 1973, Donny dedicated many years to serving humanity in EMS, starting as an EMT and rising to Paramedic roles in Worcester and Springfield, MA. He was a mentor and trainer in the EMS community, known for his compassion and skill. His love of helping others led him to spend his free time as a ski patroller in Western Massachusetts and in life he acted the passing hero whenever fate left those in need in his path.
Before his tragic passing he had the opportunity to enjoy three magical years of retirement filled to the brim with everything he loved; golfing, fishing, karaoke, being a world-class family man, and traveling the world with his wife of 43 years.
His colorful, goofy soul will be missed by all who knew him.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at his residence in Gilmanton, NH on July 13 at 11AM. In lieu of attendance, the family welcomes memories and condolences, which can be shared or sent to 520 Crystal Lake Road, Gilmanton NH.
