Japan greenhouse emissions lowest on record

(WWLP) – Japan’s ministry of the environment has announced that Japan’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2020 declined for the 7th consecutive year and are the lowest on record.

The ministry says the 2020 output was equivalent to 1.15 billion tons of carbon dioxide. Industrial sectors such as manufacturing and transportation also saw decreases from 2019 levels.
